KHARTOUM, Aug 30 (KUNA) — Khartoum announced Sunday its refusal to pay any ransom for the gunmen who abducted two civilians working for UNAMID, the joint UN-African Union peacekeeping mission in Darfur, western Sudan.
Official spokesman for the Sudanese Foreign Ministry Moa’wya Khalid Osman told reporters “Our position is firm.. we will not negotiate with the kidnappers nor respond to their pressure”.
He described the kidnapping as a “terrorist act”.
