The SPLM has warned of what it described as NCP’s attempts to ‘manipulate’ the ongoing voter registration. SPLM Deputy Secretary General for Northern Sector, Yasir Arman, told Miraya FM that these attempts may threaten security in the country. Arman stated that his party is ready to resolve the remaining issues with NCP. Meanwhile, Presidential Assistant, Nafie Ali Nafie, accused Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and the Government of Southern Sudan of subjecting voters to harassment in some areas in the south. In press statements, Nafie called on citizens in the south to exercise their constitutional rights and register for the 2010 general elections.
