JEM Releases 60 POWs
A Statement from JEM:
60 POWs were handed over by JEM to the International Committee for Red Cross (ICRC), Friday July 18th.  A full list of the released war prisoners is published in the Arabic Website of JEM and includes names, day of detention, battalion, military rank and number and hometown.  The released POWs include five policemen.
The handover was undertaken in accordance with international laws and was fully supervised by the ICRC.
JEM hopes that this unilateral action will encourage its peace partner to rise to the challenge and abide by the Good Will Agreement of February 2009.
