DONGOLA (22 Nov) – The police arrested eight students from Darfur who studied in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Dongola. One of the Darfur students said that prior to the arrests they had sent a delegation to negotiate with the Director on exemption from tuition fees. The students had given administrators the choice between exempting them from tuition fees or accepting the mass resignation of the students. He added that the Director did not respond. When the students refused to get out of his office he called the police who came and arrested the eight students. These students are still in custody.
