The arrest of Abdulrhman Mohamed Gasim, the legal assistance coordinator of the Association
A group from the security force has arrested the human rights activist, Abdulrhman Mohamed Gasim, the legal assistance coordinator of the DBA, and the executive director of the support campaign of the forcible disappeared at United Arab Emirate, the Sudanese citizen, Al-Sadiq Al-Sidiq Adam Abdalla. Gasim was arrested on Saturday, 5:00 pm October 30, 2010 in central Khartoum.
Abdulrhman Mohamed Gasim, was an activist defending human rights and defending victims of violations within the national law frameworks and the international agreements and conventions.
His arrest without clear justification is clear violation to his rights, as stipulated in the interim constitution of 2005, and his right for human dignity, freedoms and personal safety and protection from torture.
The Association greatly condom the arrest of Ustaz Abdulrhman, it urged civil societies organizations and human rights activists to work for his release, by writing to the ministry of justice, the attorney general and the director of the national intelligence.
