QATAR (29 Dec.) The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) welcomes yesterday a statement released earlier by the mediation Qatar. The statement appealed to the government of Sudan to do everything possible to create a climate of confidence and the proper environment to reach a lasting solution to the conflict. The statement also called on the government to do more in areas such as security and freedom of movement in accordance with the relevant recommendations provided in Security Council resolution 1769 and goodwill agreement which was held recently in Doha between the government and the JEM. Ahmed Hussein Adam, JEM spokesman, said to Radio Dabanaga his movement will accept the statement despite it might have had some reservations concerning its weak tone.
