June 4, 2009 (JUBA) — The Southern Sudanese presidential motorcade was today struck by a hit-and-run vehicle while leaving an office compound.
The suspected offender, an ethnic Pojulu named Richard Males, is an information technician of southern Sudan radio. He ran away leaving behind a woman now helping police for investigations.
This is the second time the presidential motorcade has been involved in such an accident with first being on May 24, 2009, when the president and speaker of the region’s parliament were going to visit Fr. George Kinga Longoko, presidential advisor on religious affairs.
