KHARTOUM, Aug 19 (KUNA) — A Kuwaiti aircraft loaded with relief supplies for the displaced in the toubled region of Darfur arrived here on Wednesday.
The relief aid was ordered by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Head of the DirectAid society Suleiman Al-Ajmi told KUNA the humanitarian aid were carried aboard an aircraft belonging to the Kuwaiti Air Force.
The aircraft carries 12 tons of humanitarian aid prepared by Kuwait Finance House (KFH) to assist the displaced persons in Darfur.
The Kuwaiti delegation will be distributing the relief supplies and aid to 12,000 people tomorrow at Zamzam and Abu Zamzam camps in Darfur.
The relief aid contains corn, lintel, oil, and more, said Al-Ajmi, adding that such supplies would cover Darfurians’ needs for a period of three to four weeks. (end) hha.mao KUNA 191539 Aug 09NNNN
