JEM underestimates Bashir’s promise on Darfur

KHARTOUM (5 Jan.) – The administration of president Omar Al Bashir will do everything to achieve peace in Darfur this year. President Omar al Bashir announced this yesterday. It is a new bid to address the already deteriorated security in Darfur. The president also said the issue of the lawlessness in the region can be resolved through negotiations.The Justice and Equality Movement’s spokesman, Ahmed Hussein Adam scoffed at Al Bashir’s address saying the speech was a mere repetition of false promises. Adam added such speech lacks any sort of credibility and it neither respects the minds of the people of Darfur nor does it dignify the souls of their victims.
