NAIROBI, Wednesday
A group of Sudanese has claimed they were used by Western organisations to fabricate and inflate incidents in war-torn Darfur.
The group from Darfur movements and witnesses said the move was meant to incriminate the government and the Armed Forces in the war.
A statement from Sudan News Agency (Suna) today said the group held a meeting in Addis Ababa on Tuesday to disclose the methods allegedly adopted by Western organizations since the outbreak of the dispute in Darfur six years ago.
The group, Suna said, included senior leaders of Sudan Liberation Movement and the Salvation Movement among them translators, witnesses and tribal leaders.
“They said that the foreign organisations tended to ask the natives to double the number of the killed persons, if any, and to fabricate incidents to show the Armed Forces as a partner in the attack on villages in Darfur,” Suna said.
