Fresh Victory in South Darfur
A Military Statement from JEM
This morning, November 3^rd 2010, a mobile unit of our gallant army was intercepted by Khartoum army, at Khor Taan, 50k east of Nyala city.The government forces consisting of three units mounting on 70 vehicles and consisting of the elite Central Reserve, Security and Border Guards units.Within less than 30 minutes, government forces resorted to what they are good at.They fled into Nyala city leaving behind 50 to 80 copses.Our forces captured 13 vehicles and destroyed many more.Three of JEM fighters were injured in the combat, none of them seriously.
This incident comes barely 24 hours after declaration of Mr. Kasha, Janjaweed Leader and Governor of South Darfur that his State is clear of any rebel forces.As an opening of a dry season offensive, this defeat
signals beginning of the end of their well publicised Operation Finial Musk and the alleged New Strategy for Peace in Darfur.
JEM seizes this opportunity to salute government forces in Kutum and Umsiala, North Darfur who defied government orders to fight against their people, handed their weapons at Alfashir and left for Khartoum.These courageous soldiers have set an exemplary model for others to follow and rebel against fighting for the genocidaires of Khartoum.*
