KHARTOUM (12 JUNE) – 21 Darfuri female students were injured and 17 others arrested in violent incidents at Khartoum University. Female students, loyal to the National Congress Party attacked Darfuri female students and forced them spend the night in the street. Riot police raided the Barracks dormitories and totally evacuated the students. The events started in the aftermath of a quarrel between a student from Darfur and another one loyal to the National Congress Party, which developed, and spread all over the university compound. Eyewitnesses told Radio Dabanga that students who support National Congress Party accompanied by elements of the security forces entered into female dormitory wearing women veil, and started beating up other female students.
