AL FASHER (29 Dec.) – Chadian opposition forces in the Siah region (North Darfur) raped two days ago a girl aged 11 years old. The incident occurred in Kloko, at a distance of five kilometers of the Siah valley. It is noted the assault came in a series of violations and intimidations which terrified the local population for the last four months.
Continued attacks resulted in a large scale of displacement from the several villages around the Siah valley. They fled to other relatively safe villages. A delegation representing the local population handed a letter yesterday to the Governor of North Darfur in relation to the issue.
Hafiz Adam Issa, official spokesman for the Youth Committee in the Siah valley told Radio Dabanaga that the people of Siah demanded an immediate removal of the opposition forces from the region, saying the issue is now before the Governor and his Security Committee awaiting further deliberations.
