ARF Scores its Second Victory in 24 Hours, North Darfur
A Military Statement from The Alliance of Resistance Forces (ARF)
Our army of the ARF has scored another victory today at Fingyar, between Shangili Tobayi and Dar El Salam, 75k south of El Fashir . Following its defeat yesterday, GoS dispatched another battalion from El Fashir to rescue remnants of its defeated army scattered in the wilderness and to ambush our soldiers while celebrating their last victory. The invading battalion engaged our army at 3-30, this afternoon, Friday, December 24, 2010. But there wasn’t that much of a battle. Within less than an hour, the enemy soldiers offered their backs and scattered in all directions. Our army chased some of them to the outskirts of El Fashir. Others took advantage of darkness and will be pursued tomorrow.
The collapse of morale of GoS soldiers is now difficult to deny. One of the soldiers captured in the battle complained to our troops: “You needn’t use all that fire power. We could have handed you everything without you discharging a single bullet against us. We don’t want to fight for the government, but we are forced to.”
Our forces gained 19 armoured vehicles and destroyed many more belonging to the invading army.
We lost two soldiers in the assault and suffered few some injuries. More details to follow.
Long live our struggle for justice
